Farm

This farm employs Natural Farming methods and has been influenced by the work of Masanobu Fukuoka.
The farm is known as the Home of the Sweet White Pineapple or Sugarloaf Pineapple, which originated in West Africa. It is low-acid, sweet and juicy. Other fruits and vegetables grown here are Apple Banana, Winter Squash or Pumpkin Squash or Kabocha, variety citrus, avocado, mango, Kari starfruit and seasonal vegetables. Most herbs are also grown here.

The farm progressed mainly through the steady labor of Eric DePeralta, who did the planting, weeding and harvesting. Kaleb Thomas and Garrett Carter continued that role. Now Cass Granda has taken that role and is especially adept at planting new varieties of trees and harvesting en bulk.

The majority of the produce is sold to Sweet Cane Cafe in Hilo. Much is juiced or used fresh, but the rest is either frozen or dried. KTA, Island Naturals and Abundant Life carry our fruits and vegetables. If you are in Hilo and would like to eat well, stop by Sweet Cane and join them at 48 Kamana St, Hilo. They make the world's best smoothies. https://www.sweetcanecafe.com/
